Savanna Children’s Fund

The Savanna Children’s Fund has started its drive for the 2019 Christmas season. The Savanna Children’s Fund has switched its focus from toys for Savanna youngsters to clothing so not to duplicate the efforts of the Toys for Tots program.

Organizers Ashley Bunn and Katie Floming stated the program helps provide a Merry Christmas to over 120 Savanna youngsters.

Anyone who needs a little help from Santa during this holiday season, or knows of someone who does, is asked to contact Katie Floming or pick up a registration form at Sullivan’s Foods,Savanna Food Pantry, as well as, CARROLL COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY OFFICE, or email savannachildrensfund@outlook.com.

In previous years, the Savanna Children’s Fund had Christmas trees placed at area businesses, but donors are now encouraged to make donations to the Christmas Stocking. The Christmas Stocking will once again be on the counter at the Savanna Times-Journal, 315 Main St. in Savanna. The giver’s list is ready for donors to sign so contributions, if so desired, can be acknowledged weekly in the Savanna Times-Journal. Those wanting to make donations may send them to Savanna Children’s Fund, P.O. Box 212, Savanna IL, 61074.  Names will be added to the list unless it is noted that the donor prefers to remain anonymous.

Funds raised by the generous members of the community will be used to purchase clothing. A special party will be held on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2019, where Santa Claus will distribute the gifts.

The Savanna InterChurch Council and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church are once again assisting in the program. For more information on this program, please feel free to contact Katie Floming at 309-236-3482, or email savannachildrensfund@outlook.com. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
