Randy Craft, an officer with the Lanark, IL Police Department, will be facilitating a presentation on “Scams Targeting the Elderly.” This presentation is open to the public, and will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Dining Room at Big Meadows Nursing Home, 1000 Longmoor Avenue, Savanna, IL.
Every day, seniors throughout Illinois fall prey to smooth-talking con artists who call them up and tell all kinds of convincing stories to get their money. Mr. Craft will discuss some of the common warning signs of telephone scams, as well as, scams via e-mail or letters you may receive in the mail asking for personal data such as your: Social Security Number, Birth Date, Mother’s Maiden Name, or Bank Account Information.
